Rhythm and Blues for Christmas is an annual benefit to raise funds to help provide Christmas for the children of Carpenter Place (formerly Maude Carpenter Children's Home). Every year, volunteers and sponsors come together with artists and local business owners to put on an amazing evening full of fun and entertainment with all proceeds going to the children.
Rhythm and Blues for Christmas serves as the annual kickoff of Wichita's holiday season, igniting the warmth and joy that can only be found in giving throughout all of the people that share in the evening. What better way to help others than dressing up for a night on the town, enjoying excellent food and music, winning prizes, and dancing?
Wichita is an incredible city to call home. It is wonderful how the community really pulls together to support these kids during the holidays. Carpenter Place is a private, not federally, funded organization. This means that all of it's funding is from donations alone. Because of this, they are able to offer children a home from early childhood through adulthood if needed. Not only do they offer them a safe haven but they provide education resources, counseling, and life skills to ensure that these kids are prepared and successful adults.
Please, enjoy our website and then dust off your dancing shoes and join us for our 18th year. We would love to see you there!
